About

A few words about the artist…

I was born in Algeria. After independence, my family was finally reunited in Angers, in the west of France. My education is normal although I am not very passionate about studies. At fifteen I discovered the piano. For two years, lessons were given to me by an old lady. While working relatively little, I am making impressive progress.

After my study, I began management studies. It was at the age of twenty that the momentous encounter took place. By the greatest chance, I met Alain Deschamps. He is a teacher recently arrived in Angers who is also a remarkable pianist specializing in jazz improvisation.

I have the distinct honor of being his first student.

Once I finished my management studies, I worked in industry and education... where I performed more tricks than miracles. I have a certain aversion to hierarchies. You would have seen me selling nails by the kilo or making goat cheese in Lozère... these are just noises.

More seriously, I take lessons with Alain Deschamps who introduces me to harmony, rhythm, blues, jazz and lots of stars such as: Armstrong, Art Tatum, Bud Powell, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Bill Evans, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane…

I have immense gratitude for Alain Deschamps. For me there remains a Master who died too soon.

It was a little before my thirties that I decided to write song lyrics and record them late in life. “Le Malappris” is the title of my 2nd album.

Thank you very much for welcoming him.
